PACT (Photodynamic Antimicrobial Therapy) Fungal Nail Treatment – prices below

PACT is a safe, pain-free, effective fungal nail treatment.  PACT takes 10 minutes per infected nail and approximately five treatments are initially advised, depending on the severity of the infection.

PACT uses a specialist gel to cause the fungus to become hypersensitive to light.  A lamp type device is then used to expose the fungus to a high wavelength (630nm) of light to stop the growth of the infection and destroy 99.9% of all bacteria and fungi – this will not cause any damage to your skin or healthy nail.

PACT is recommended for all mild to moderate infections.  Severe infections may prevent the gel/light from accessing this area and can reduce the effectiveness of the treatment.  This will be discussed at your initial assessment.

Assessment and Mycology Lab Sample Testing (to confirm infection) - £80

Following an initial assessment, the price and length of your PACT session will be dependent on how many nails are affected

Biomechanical Assessment
1 hour £119

Given the importance of the lower extremity to movement and function, podiatry is integral to your overall health and wellbeing.  This is why podiatry should be a central part of your rehabilitation journey treating your foot, ankle and lower limb injuries, aches and pains.

Along with chronic and acute pain affecting anyone and interfering with our day to day lives our team is proficient in sports podiatry.  We understand whether recreational or professional your priorities and goals can be different when it comes to your chosen sport.  We will work with you to reach and exceed the goals personally important to you.

Biomechanical/Musculoskeletal (MSK) podiatry is the study, diagnosis and treatment of the foot, ankle and lower limbs, but which can have a positive impact at the hips, lower back and entire upper body.  Understanding biomechanics is vital to preventing and treating pain and dysfunction within the body.

At this appointment we will discuss your injury/concern and how it is impacting your lifestyle and activities.  We will undertake a full assessment of the lower limb including a visual gait analysis before providing a diagnosis and working with you to develop a treatment plan to get you back to the things you love to do.

Common complaints which we successfully treat –

  • Plantar fasciitis

  • Morton’s neuroma

  • Foot and ankle arthritis

  • Metatarsalgia

  • Bunions

  • Achilles tendinopathy

  • Ankle Sprains

  • Patellofemoral pain syndrome/chondromalacia patella

  • Runners knee

Gait Analysis
1 hour £119
(£100 when booking with a Biomechanical Assessment)

If you are looking to enhance your running experience, reach your full potential or keep experiencing pain/discomfort when you run, gait analysis might be just what you need.  Gait analysis involves observing and measuring the way you run to identify abnormalities or inefficiencies in movement patterns which can cause potential issues with your foot or lower body mechanics.

Unlike the visual gait analysis included in your biomechanical assessment, this session involves the use of body markers (reflective dots placed on key anatomical areas) and gait analysis software to provide even more detail beyond what can be seen with the naked eye.

Gait analysis can help identify the cause of your lower limb injury, prevent further injury and optimise athletic performance through identifying biomechanical or running technique errors and implementing drills and training methods to improve these.

* N.B. please book through Biomechanical Assessment if you would like to add gait assessment on.

Nail surgery
1 hour £350

Nail surgery is a minor surgical procedure to remove the side/s or all of your nail, most commonly used to treat in-growing toenails.  This is a permanent solution to your problem.

Local anesthetic is injected into your toe, blocking all pain sensation during the procedure. When your toe is completely numb the offending nail/piece of nail is removed, and a chemical applied to prevent unwanted re-growth.

On the day of the treatment, you are advised to return straight home and rest with your feet elevated. The following day you can return to work or school, however, it is advised you refrain from sports for at least two weeks.  Total healing time varies depending on your age and general health but is generally between four to 12 weeks.

Foot Examination

Baseline Testing
1 hour £149

Baseline testing is our innovative assessment protocol for people who care about preventative health. When seeing an injured patient for the first time it can often be a case of ‘chicken or egg’. Do you have reduced strength in your quadriceps as a protective mechanism because you have developed knee pain, or did you develop the knee pain because your quadriceps were weaker on that side?

This appointment is not for diagnosing and treating an injury. At these appointments we will generate a snapshot of your current health status, training and fitness level.

These appointments consist of –

  • Strength testing

  • Power testing

  • Dynamic neuromuscular control

  • ROM testing

  • Gait analysis

Should you be unfortunate enough to become injured in the future, having a baseline from when you were healthy will provide key markers to compare against. Having answers to questions as in the above example will help direct and streamline your rehabilitation. Getting you back to your chosen level of activity as soon as possible.

APOS Therapy
1 hour (+ 3 follow ups over 12 months)
£1800

Apos is a highly effective, non-surgical, drug-free medical device to manage chronic joint and lower back pain.  Apos is a NICE recommended, clinically proven medical device to reduce pain and improve function in people suffering from hip and knee osteoarthritis.  NICE recommends Apos Therapy to be included in all NHS knee osteoarthritis treatment pathways.  Unfortunately, this is not covered by many NHS Trusts.

At this appointment you will undergo a full assessment, including digitised gait analysis and fitted with the Apos Therapy footwear.  You will then be guided in building up to wearing this footwear for 1 hour per day.  This will retrain your gait and provide lasting pain relief with improved function, even when not wearing the Apos footwear.  The appointment price also includes two follow up sessions within the 12-months.

  • 83% of users report more than a 50% reduction in pain

  • 86% of users with severe knee osteoarthritis avoided total knee replacement at 2 years

  • 89% of users with moderate to severe knee osteoarthritis avoided knee replacement surgery at 6 years

  • 60% report an improvement in function

It is easy to feel like chronic knee or hip pain is something you have to live with, but it doesn’t have to be.

Apos is available privately and through medical insurance (please check with your provider).
